How many pieces of Lego are there in the world?

How many pieces of Lego are there in the world?“How many pieces of Lego are there in the world, Dad?”

“What?”

“How many pieces of Lego?”

Internally, I am screaming. This is a tougher question than how many cars are there in the world? This is a job for Google, I reckon.

Gizmodo reports that more than 400 billion Lego bricks have been produced since 1958.

Approximately 19 billion Lego elements are produced per year. Approximately, 2.16 million are made every hour.

These numbers are mind-bending. But, wait! Up to 75 billion Lego bricks are sold around the world every year.

LEGO Minifigures are the world’s largest population, with over 4 billion of them around the world!

These numbers explain why it is inevitable that a loving parent will shriek in pain after standing on a piece of Lego.
